Private Garden,
Chiswick, London.
This garden in Chiswick showed just how much design potential could be realized even from the smallest garden in
what initially appeared to be a cramped and unpromising space. The garden at first had no complete boundaries, few
features of note, one existing plant, and overall measured only fifteen metres long and three metres wide at the
broadest point.
However, the design transformed the space and now includes a sunny garden space with Mediterranean style planting
(grape vines, oleander, sophora); white rendered walls, which reflect the sun and shadow year round; a fish pool
with fountain; a hedged patio and herb garden, fernery and dining area.
