I gained a scholarship from the Gane Charitable Trust and undertook a tour of the Netherlands in order to assess
the country’s flair in the design and management of their landscapes, and involved the submission of a 2000 word
report which covered park design; Dutch landscape architecture; residential design; and their vibrant nursery
industry.
I have also carried out book and event reviews for World Architecture News (WAN) including Paris’ ‘Cite Nature’
exhibition and Charles Bancroft’s book ‘The Architect’.
I have given lectures at the Thames Gateway Conference on the subject of ’Open Space as a Focus for Regeneration’ with
reference to SOM projects at Doncaster and Rugby; and spoke at the Liverpool Waterfront Expo citing Gensler projects
in Rabat, Blackpool and Abu Dhabi.
I have also been invited to adjudicate three times at the WAN Urban Design Panel which reviews and rewards best
practice and innovation.
